How I make Teriyaki Chicken (Video/ Picture Story Exercise):
We were given a task to make a 30 minute video or take 12 pictures to show a story of something happening, I decided I would take pictures of the process I went through to make Teriyaki Chicken and put the 12 pictures into a video.
Understanding ISO, Aperture and shutter speed:
ISO - Also know International Standards Organization is the setting that controls how bright you picture is and that depends on how high you have it, for example the higher the ISO setting is the more lighter and brighter you picture will be. A higher number means your sensor is more sensitive to light and this allows your camera in a darker situations, the cost of this is having more grain in your pictures vice versa the lower number the less your sensor is to light meaning less grain.

Aperture - Aperture can be defined as the opening in the lens through which light passes to enter the camera, put simply its the same as how our eyes work for example when going into a light area or dark area our iris either expends or shrinks controlling the size of your pupil. In photography the "pupil" of the lens is called aperture you can shrink or enlarge the size of the aperture to allow more or less light to reach your camera sensor. Aperture also controls depth of field.

Eugene Delacroix's 'Liberty Leading the People (1st picture):

I was given the task of choosing between 3 different pieces of art work and I chose Eugene Delacroix's 'Liberty Leading The People' and was asked to take 12 different screenshots in the style of camera techniques.
Battle Of Tatooine (2nd picture):

For my second picture I choose a painting that was made for Star Wars, I mainly chose this since I'm a massive fan of Star Wars and thought this would be a good subject to also do my clip with pictures exercise
Star Wars Clip:
Mini Brief: Baby Yoda
For the mini brief I chose option 3: Different paths, my story is of Baby Yoda waking up and realising he needs to use the bathroom.

Alone Script Storyboard

My scenario (Scenario swap task)

My scenario is to friends walking through the forest and coming across a wooden hut, they walk towards it and enter, inside the see a fireplace, table and chairs and stairs leading up
Questions for a Storyboard Artist:
What is the story about:?: I having trouble deciding between 2 ideas, continuing my child dream which would require more work or doing just a simple animation about a ball going on a journey.
Who are the characters?: Deciding on the idea I choose the characters would be 2 brother names Tom and John or a ball named Timmy.
In each scene what do they do or say?: There is no talking in my animation, for the brother they would be walking through a forest and then stumbling across a house, whereas if I did the ball idea he would be trying to find his owner.
What should the main light source be?: If I go with the 2 brothers idea that main light source would be moonlight, for the ball it'll be sun light.
My Pitch:
My idea is to do a stop motion animation with digital drawings which will show 2 brothers making their way through a forest and then stumbling across an abandoned house, the setting will be at night. what I will need to accomplish this is my drawing tablet, drawing software and then use after effects to put the images together into a video.
Animation:
Shutter Speed - Shutter speed is the length of time the camera shutter is open which exposes the sensor to light. Essentially its the amount of time it takes your camera to take the picture. When using a longer shutter speed you end up exposing your sensor for a significant amount of time. If your shutter speed is too long moving objects will be blurred along the line of direction this is how you can get the motion blur effect. Slow or short shutter speeds are mainly used to take pictures in poorly lighted areas/ at night.
On the other hand if you have a fast shutter speed you can essentially freeze an Image. Since you can eliminate motion all together from fast moving things such as birds in flight or cars passing by, this also works for things such as water which if using a fast shutter speed you can have a picture of each water droplet.
